This programme follows up the ERASMUS programme which was implemented within the framework programme SOCRATES II (2000-2006). It supports the same kind of actions.

All mobility actions are decentralised and managed by National Agencies. Multilateral projects and networks are managed at the central level by the Executive Agency.
